Being the largest producer, distributor, and marketer of electricity in the country, energy production by EDP in Portugal is achieved through hydro and thermal generation, solar and wind, also acting as the Distribution Network Operator in mainland Portugal (through E-Redes), in energy marketing (through SU Eletricidade – regulated market and EDP Comercial – free market).

EDP carries out electricity production activities in Portugal through wind power generation, solar, hydroelectric, thermal, and floating solar energy.
