Barclays decreases its ownership interest in the share capital of EDP

Pursuant to the terms and for the purposes of article 244 of the Portuguese Securities code and of the CMVM Regulation 5/2008, EDP - Energias de Portugal, S.A. ("EDP") is providing the following information to the market:

On May 20th, 2015, Barclays, Plc. ("Barclays") notified EDP regarding the decrease of a qualifying holding from 2.71% to 1.09% of EDP's share capital. The holding decreased below 2.00% of EDP's share capital on May 18th, 2015, due to the sale of 30,500,000 by Barclays Merchant Bank (Singapore) Ltd..

As a result, Barclays currently holds 33,664,411 shares, representing 1.09% of EDP's share capital and 1.09% of the respective voting rights.

Barclays also informed about the chain of entities relevant for the calculation of the significant shareholding in accordance with number 1 of article 20 of the Portuguese Securities Code.
