Horizon Wind Energy, LLC ("Horizon"), EDP's 100%-owned subsidiary for US wind operations, acquired from Hydra Energy, LLC ("Hydra"), a portfolio of six early stage projects in an aggregate of 1,050 MW of wind capacity, located in the States of Illinois, Indiana and Ohio, USA, within the PJM and MISO transmission systems.

These projects are located in some of the most attractive wholesale electricity markets in the US and are expected to contribute for the consolidation of Horizon's leading position in these regions.

This acquisition is in line with EDP's strategy of reinforcing its pipeline in the US market, one of the countries with highest growth potential of the renewable energy market.
