EDP surpasses the milestone of 15 GW of contracted capacity in PPA worldwide
EDP has reached 15 GW in long-term contracts (Power Purchase Agreements, or PPA, in English), notably with some of the largest global companies, a significant milestone in the company's growth and strengthening of its commitment to the development of renewable energy projects. Energy and utility companies, data centers, commerce and retail, electricity and gas, and manufacturing industry are the five sectors leading PPA contracting with EDP globally. The renewable electricity contracted through these agreements represents approximately 41.5 TWh, from EDP's large-scale projects.
In 2024 alone, EDP concluded PPA with 15 clients, recording a growth of 15% in contracted capacity compared to 2023. This growth reflects the quality of EDP's assets in clean energy production, capable of meeting the energy needs of clients. The company maintains a robust technological diversification, with solar and wind assets representing the majority of contracts, although battery energy storage systems (BESS) have played a relevant role in the PPAs signed in 2024.
Among the main contracts closed last year, the PPA of up to 200 MWp with Microsoft in Singapore, as part of the SolarNova initiative; the PPA of 44 MWp with Amazon in Japan, in EDP's largest solar project in the country, in Fukushima; the PPAs of 184 MWp in Europe with a major technology company; or the 200 MW agreement in Arizona, USA, with Salt River Project stand out.
These contracts were signed in the four global regions where EDP operates - Europe, North America, South America, and Asia-Pacific and encompass clients from various sectors. However, the increased energy demand from large technology companies for their data centers represented 45% of the contracts signed by the EDP group in 2024.
In this context, EDP has consolidated as a key partner for large technology companies, securing a cumulative total of 3.2 GW of PPAs for data centers globally (22% of the cumulative total). These companies recognize the integrated position and track record of EDP as differentiating factors, also representing a significant share of contracts currently under negotiation.

In Europe, EDP has already signed agreements covering 2.2 GW of capacity in the region. As EDP continues to expand its global presence, it remains committed to supporting businesses worldwide in adopting more sustainable energy solutions.
