Solidarity lunches and dinners

EDP Volunteers have been partnering with some associations, such as the Refugee Support Platform and Serve the City, to host lunches and dinners for socially vulnerable people or those in unfavorable contexts.
Solidarity at the table
EDP Volunteers partnered with the Refugee Support Platform (PAR) to host a lunch and engage in activities for around 200 refugees supported by this Platform, on December 21, 2022, in Lisbon.
Alongside the lunch and activities, gifts and solidarity baskets were distributed to all beneficiaries, in an initiative involving 18 volunteers who dedicated a total of 2268 hours to this solidarity effort.
Community dinners
EDP teamed up with Serve the City to support the community dinners held by this association every two weeks. These dinners are moments of sharing, a meal and life stories, between 130 volunteers and 170 socially vulnerable people, who sit, dine side by side and get to know each other eye to eye. Started in 2018, with the support of the European Commission, this project has counted on a series of partners, including EDP.
The community dinners are essentially regular gatherings among people from various backgrounds, including homeless individuals. Serve the City aims to “build bridges between people, institutions, and territories, through volunteer actions, to make the City more fair, fraternal, and supportive.”
