In Spain, motivating teenage girls to consider pursuing studies in STEM areas.

With the support of its volunteers, EDP carried out the Womeng EDPR project, aiming to inform and motivate teenagers to pursue studies in STEM fields.

Fighting stereotypes

EDP supported the Womeng EDPR project, developed with the aim of motivating teenage girls, aged 9 to 13, to consider pursuing studies in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) areas. 

As part of the project, EDP volunteers visited schools and held two workshops to remove stereotypes and encourage girls to pursue these fields of study.

2022 and 2023 editions

In the 2022 edition, the sessions were held on the following dates and schools:

  • Oviedo: Auseva College, February 21 and March 7.
  • Zaragoza: IEP Colegio Inglés, February 22 and March 9
  • Seville: La Luna College, February 23 and March 14
  • Seville: St. Mary's School, March 10 and March 24

In the 2023 edition, the sessions were held on the following dates and schools:

  • Madrid: Patrocinio San José, March 6 and 23 
  • GSD: Buitrago, from March 6 and 21 
  • CEIP: Pradolongo, March 7th and 28th
  • Seville: St Mary's School, March 9-23
  • Zaragoza: CEIP Ciudad de Zaragoza, March 29 and April 12 
  • Oviedo: CEIP Príncipe de Asturias. March 8 and 22
